Record & Play...

This option is floating window which can stay open at all times. Its data is read continuosly from various windows for proper operation.

Acoustics only:

When using the computer sound system, only a choice of sample rate is given. (PC)/ On Mac, there will be slightly different choices available.

Data is recorded into memory until stopped by mouse click.

Multi-channel:

For multi-channel data acquisition, then there are many more options available. The hardware is capable of receiving data from up to 16 channels of data, with the first one being the acoustics. All the hardware controls are done through software. There are no hardware adjustments. The controls are seperated into two tables. the first one controls the acoustics channel, the recording time, and to where the acoustics output should be directed. As oppose to the acoustic sonly above, in this mode, the data is collected to the predetermined recording time. the recording cannot be stopped until completion.

Table #1:

Time (sec)    amount of recording time.

Input Source    selects microphone or line inputs.

Play Through    for acoustics only, selects where to output the acoustics data, either through the external hardware or the computer's sound system.

Table#2

The table rows count will vary depending on the number of data channels available in your hardware system (5,9,12,16)

Row title    Shows the channel and its designation. (not editable).

Channel      Selects the channel to be acquired.

Sample rate    Selects the sample rate for the channel. Notice that the sample rates change depending on the rate selected for the acoustics channel.

Filter rate    Selects the corner for the pre A/D filters.

Gain    Selects the gain for the data channel.
