General operation

Main Display

The software will launch a blank window. On the left side of the graphic display a series of displays shows the channel numbers along with the labels that you wish to provide for the signal on that channel, the amplitudes in desired units and the corresponding gain selection for that channel when it was recorded.

The cursor position and the duration of the selection are shown at the bottom of the screen in milliseconds.

Moving the mouse while holding the mouse button down makes the selection.

The marker is a specific location in time for performing FFT/LPC analysis and/or editing. To place a marker, move the cursor to the desire location and press the mouse button. The marker will be placed with a different color. Placing a new marker will remove the old marker.

The graphs for each channel can be moved up or down and the display gain (see note below) can be increased/decreased using the parameters in the display options.

The colors for all the displays can be altered with the display/color options.

The intensity values will display with a different color.

The graph window can zoom in and out using the zoom menu commands.

Configuration file

Every operation involving changing any settings in the program will update a configuration file for application called "PCquirerConf.cfg  or (MacquirerConf)".  This file resides either in the same directory of the application (Preference folder for Mac). For server installations, due to security reasons, the system may ask you where you wish to place this file, in that case it will always be in that location. (If for any reason this file gets corrupted or the settings you get is not what you desire, close the application, delete this file and restart the application. Then everything will go to the application default settings. You may also save any program settings and layout in the form user configuration file. Use the File->Save configuration. Next time load this file and all the settings in the program will be set to this file. The layouts stored in this file is based on the resolution and the display size of your computer. If you should copy this file some other computer, then the layout may not be the same.
